Fremont Community-wide Vacation Bible School

This is the 2nd year of this wildly popular bible school for
Preschool aged kids ages 3-5. Please note: 3 year olds must be potty trained have reached their 3rd birthday by Oct 15, 2009 of last year.
and grade school kids K-5 grade completion.

This event will be held June 14-18 and the theme will be : High Seas Expedition!

Registration is due by May 2nd.
Event is sponsored by: First, Salem and Sinai Lutheran, First United Methodist, Fremont Presbyterian, and Full Life churches in Fremont.

Bicycle Rodeo is Saturday!

Travelers Protective Assoc. Post B of Fremont and the Fremont Area Service Club will be sponsoring a bicycle rodeo from 8am to noon Saturday, April 17th, 2010 at the Fremont YMCA.

Bicycle helmets will be given away in a drawing and safe riding brochures will be available. Bicycle licenses may be purchased from the Fremont Police Dept.

12:15pm-3:15pm FREE Ice Skating at Fremont Sidner Ice Arena

Safety Train Rides! on the Union Pacific Safety Train at 11:30am & 5:30pm wednesday only. Board at the U.P. Depot at 10 South Main St. Fremont NE. Rides will be about one hour long. Participants should arrive about 30 minutes before departure. Riders MUST wear hard sole shoes (no open toe shoes allowed).

The Friends of the library Book Sale at the Fremont City Auditorium. This year's sale will include over 835 boxes of books! Thursday is a pre-sale event for members only from 6-8pm and Sunday most books will be half off. All kinds of books can be found at this sale including history, children's, cooking, do-it-yourself, fiction, non-fiction, crafts, etc. Fri (9am-8pm), Sat (10am-5pm), Sun (noon-5pm)

Fremont Bull Riding Classic at Christensen Field Indoor Arena. Doors open at 6:30pm, Event starts at 7:30pm. Registration for "mutton bustin" starts at 5pm. Nebraska Students Art Contest

Nebraska students in kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to show their creativity by entering the 2010 Nebraska Spirit Art Contest. The contest, which is designed to promote Nebraska, is sponsored by Secretary of State John Gale and Nebraska's government.

Entries will be accepted starting March 1st and must be postmarked by April 26, 2010. Contest details are available HERE.

The winners from each grade will have their work featured on a computer screen saver. On June 4th, a day of activities will be held in Lincoln, NE for the winners and their families and teachers.

Registration for Area Schools is near!



Kindergarten registration for the 2010-2011 school year will begin in a few weeks at Fremont Public Schools elementary buildings. Children who will be 5 years, on or before Oct 15th, 2010 are eligible to enroll and attend kindergarten in the district. Parents or guardians along with the child should plan to spend approximately an hour and fifteen minutes at school for the registration session. They should bring any completed registration forms, a certified copy of their birth certificate and immunization records. The following is the registration day for each FPS school:
Howard-Mar 12th
BellField-Mar 19th
Clarmar-Mar 25th
Platteville-April 6
Grant-April 9th
Milliken Park-April 16th
Linden- April 23rd
Washington- April 30th.
